Friends - We have a homeless family in our network. The mother is 35 weeks pregnant, the father just had surgery and is out of work and they are living in a garage with their 13-year-old son. It is winter here in Minnesota and temps are dropping rapidly. They do not have access to basic necessities. They have contacted every non-profit, government agency and church in their area. The only response they have received is, "I'm sorry, we cannot help."

Funding for rental assistance in Minnesota has been slashed by 75% (from $80 billion to $20 billion). As such, these types of crises will continue to worsen as we move forward.

While I understand it will difficult to crowdfund for rental assistance, we CAN come together to help ensure that this family can access the food, diapers, clothing, gas and other necessities they need.
